BlackBerry Master Control Program 0.9.3.0 Beta 7 Released!
BlackBerry Master Control Program 0.9.3.0 Beta 7 Released!
Crazy, MCP has been downloaded over 700,000 times! Sorry for the delays! Changes in Beta 7: On the "Save Modules / Backup & Restore / ALX/JAD Builder" page in MCP there is a small button in each of these sections that allows you to quickly open the folder by left clicking the button. In previous versions you could only change the location of saved modules. In this version, each of these buttons can now be "right clicked" which allows you to change the paths for each operation: saved modules folder, backup & restore folder and the ALX/JAD Builder folder. Having the ability to change all of these locations independently was suggested by fellow MCP user Lonnie. Thanks for the great suggestion! This is the second build created under Windows 7 Ultimate (final). Get your copy right now HERE: http://mcpfx.com/download.php?list.2Enjoy! As always, please email me any problems you might have! -d P.S. Sorry if you were emailed more than once regarding this news post. You can turn off "news updates" in your profile settings on this site. I'm pretty sure I will change this site from e107 to WordPress soon. I'm just sick of the problems in e107. :/ | Posted by sgt-d on Sunday 23 May 2010 - 11:39:14 |

Quick Update
Sorry for any inbox intrusions, and sorry for any and all delays... I know you've all heard it a million times: real life! I've been caught in the crosshairs a little lately and it's sucking me dry. Weird, normally that's a goal. Anyway, here it is. MCP is still active. I will admit outright that most of my work has been trying to support BlackBerry devices and user problems that are entirely out of the scope of what MCP was designed to do. I have been trying to help users unlock their phones and also helping revive otherwise dead devices. While all that has been going on, phone contracts around the house have expired so I have been focused on the other users here and trying to tie them to a device that is "next gen" compared to what they had previously. They started out with Palm Pre's but I quickly moved them to droid devices because of the problems with the Pre device and the parent company. Google it if you don't already know about it. As some of you know I switched from a Curve 83xx to a Storm2 9550 in November of last year. A week ago I had an opportunity to test drive the HTC Droid Incredible so I deactivated the Storm2 and let someone else at work test drive it. So I have a week left on the other devices here at the house and about 3 weeks left on the droid test drive I'm doing. That's only part of it! I also revived an old "pet project" from 1997 called "Water VIS" for Quake (patches to re-vis maps for clear water) @ http://quakewatervis.com/Of course none of this has anything to do with MCP. I'm still keeping track of changes that need to be made, none are major, and the latest betas including Beta Se7en have had almost NO bug reports, so that is a HUGE PLUS! I hope to finish 0930 soon, maybe in the next two weeks and then I will be looking at a FINAL 1.0 build beyond that. This is a direct reflection on my "normal" software development model which has always been to make somethiing stable, even if it takes years, let people test it and find problems and fix everything before releasing a "1.0" version. It only makes sense, and I think people appreciate that I'm not trying to "rush it out the door". Again, sorry for the delays! MCP does NOT require an activated BB so even if I switch to a different device I will still be able to test everything on my older BlackBerry devices. | Posted by sgt-d on Thursday 06 May 2010 - 21:24:52 |

Windows Se7en
I jumped on Windows 7 RC when it came out because I wanted to fully support the new OS for MCP users. Well last week the RC started threatening to shutdown every other hour, which I couldn't afford to have happen. So I upgraded. I lost tons of crap due to a failing network drive that I backed everything up to. The MCP project was safe, as most of my other Delphi projects. What was missing were some third party components needed to build MCP. Ugh. So, a day or two of frustration and I think I'm back in business. If anyone is up for it I would really like to get the first build tested. Aside from updated developer tools and components this build is identical to 0930 Beta 6. The "about" screen shows "Beta 7" but the title bar only shows the date build (20100307). When the real "Beta se7en" is released anyone using this build (or earlier) will still receive an upgrade notice from MCP. Pre "Beta se7en": http://mcpfx.com/se7en/What I need to know is... is everything still working correctly? The GIF animations? Browsing for your BIN folder in settings? MD5 hashes for JavaLoader EXEs? Things like this. Email me at sgt-d@sodpit.com and report your findings! -d | Posted by sgt-d on Sunday 07 March 2010 - 20:35:35 |
