Downloaded MCP 0.9.3.0 Beta 1 however it seems it is not working. I click on Device info and received the following message: "javaloader 500b5.exe -u -p0x(my pin) -(my password) -deviceinfo" I also get a similar message for screenshot. No info is displayed. Help!!!!!
@bbb4ever sorry for the delay. uncheck "messages" in mcp settings to stop the messages from popping up. windows vista or 7? turn off uac. let me know if this helps!
I am new to the BlackBerry scene with the recent purchase of a second hand BlackBerry Storm 9530. The Former owner had the phone set up on a BES plan with a carrier in Canada.
I never used the phone on this plan and did not activate the phone with a carrier in Canada.
I live overseas and use the phone with a sim card from another carrier.
Unfortunately, the phone still displays the former owner's phone number and the voice mail goes to the former owner's mail box.
I am afraid to totally 'wipe' the phone and re install a generic BlackBerry OS. Can I re set the 9530 to factory settings safely by doing a wipe?
More on the topic of the BlackBerry Master Control Program - I have installed BlackBerry Master Control Program 0.9.2.1 and it seems to work OK. However, when I first start the program, an error message appears as follows: "Access violation at address 00700783 in module 'mcp.exe'. Read of address 00000390."
for your second post, yes, uncheck the option to download "mcp files" at startup in mcp settings. it's off to the right side of the update buttons at the top right.
the first, i do wipes all the time, it's safe as long as you have an os to install, and a phone plan when it comes back up. a security wipe on the handheld would just restore it to factory defaults without having to install an os.
